Motor Insurance

We offer 2 types of insurance for your vehicle:

  • Motor Third Party Liability (minimum regulatory requirement)
  • Motor Comprehensive - cover for Loss or Damage to the Insured Vehicle and Third Party Liability

Both Policies have extensive optional covers available to choose from.

This is the most basic cover and is compulsory as per the Saudi law. Third-party liability covers you against the physical damage to any third party/person and/or damages to third party property arising out of the use of your motor vehicle.

More importantly, this policy does not cover any damage or loss to your own vehicle.

We can provide you with valuable additional covers like Temporary Rent-A-Car Facility, Personal Accident Benefit, Geographical Extension to GCC countries and Roadside Assistance service.

Comprehensive cover is available for vehicles up to the age of 10 years. Though vehicles over 10 years are usually insured for Third Party, please contact our call centre and we will review your case.

We specialize in high-value cars (> 300,000) insurance but as such case has to be reviewed individually, please contact our call centre to get a competitive offer.

If you are wishing to upgrade your car insurance from Third Party, please contact our call centre.

In case of Third Party Policy, any person above 18 years with a valid driving license can drive vehicle with your consent.

For Comprehensive Policy, you have to declare and add All additional driver(s) to your Policy and is subject to payment of applicable premium. Alternatively you may choose Un-Named Driver Cover which allows any person above 18 years with a valid driving license to drive your vehicle.

Whether it's a Third Party or Comprehensive policy with Un-Named Driver coverage, any person who is below 18 years, even with a valid driving license, has to be specifically declared and added to your policy.

Please contact our call centre and we will assist you with the process. You also have to provide us with the copy of driving license of such new driver.

Chassis Number (also known as Vehicle Identification Number - VIN) is a 17 character code of letters and numbers that identifies your vehicle. You can find it on your vehicle registration card (Istamarah) or by accessing Absher account on Ministry of Interior (MOI) website.

A No Claims Discount (NCD) is the reduction in your premium based on the experience (i.e. number of years without claims) of the driver.

Yes, you may not be eligible for NCD if there is a gap of more than 30 days between your insurance coverage or you have another vehicle which is un-insured.

You can verify your NCD status in 'Insurance Discount Eligibility' section on Najm for Insurance Services website (www.najm.sa).

All comprehensive policyholders whose registered national address is of Eastern region have an automatic own damage coverage for Bahrain.

Roadside Assistance service is only within Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Sorry, Trailer Insurance is not offered as a standard within Motor Insurance policy. However, please contact our call centre and we will review your case.

The sum insured is the maximum amount, excluding any excess amount, which the Insurance Company will pay in the event that your vehicle is declared a Total Loss.

If your car is new and out of the showroom, the purchase price of the vehicle will be considered as the Sum Insured. However, it is important to note, the value of the vehicle depreciates over time. So always calculate the Sum Insured based on the current market value of the vehicle.

If you have selected Agency Repairs coverage then your vehicle will be repaired at the vehicle’s authorised dealership. If you selected Non-Agency, we will select one of Liva Insurance Approved Garages, all of which adhere to our strict quality controls.

Subject to your vehicle value, you may get agency repairs for up to seven years from its Model Year.

Yes, it is possible to cancel your insurance, provided a valid reason (no more own the vehicle or have an alternative insurance) as well as all the required documents are presented. The refund amount would be subject to Liva Insurance policy terms & conditions.

In case of Third Party Policy, we will refund premium for unexpired period subject to deduction of an administration fee (30). However, you will not be eligible for a refund in case of a claim under your policy where the value of such claim exceeds refund amount.

For Comprehensive Policy, we will refund premium for unexpired period if you have transferred the ownership of your vehicle subject to being no claim under your policy. For any other reason of cancellation, refund premium will be based on short period rate schedule as per the Policy.

Home Insurance

We offer 3 policy options that cover your home and peace of mind:

  • Building: Covers the structure of your home, fixtures and fittings of your home against loss or damages caused due to specified perils.
  • Contents: Covers loss or damage caused to your household goods and other articles at home.
  • Personal Possessions: Covers loss or damage caused to articles (including Portable Electronic device) normally worn, used or carried about by you in everyday life.

Buildings insurance is only needed if you are legally liable for the building, i.e. if you own the building as a landlord.

Yes, all domestic outbuildings, garages, sheds, swimming pool, walls and gates fall under the definition of buildings and are covered under that section. You should make sure that the sum insured for your buildings cover includes the rebuilding cost of these structures.

Building should be insured for the amount of their rebuilding cost (not current market value), which can usually be found on the buyers' report or survey, obtained upon purchase of the property. However, please note that this figure will need to be revised in keeping with market inflation.

On the other hand, contents must be insured for the total current replacement cost of all items you would take with you if you were moving out. These items could include, but not limited to, carpets, curtains, furniture, electrical appliances, valuables, clothing and personal effects.

You have to specifically declare and add any valuable item over 20,000. For items that require cover outside of  your home and are valued over 5,000 have also to be specified in your policy.

Yes, your home insurance does cover you for portable items within our home if you have taken the Contents cover and outside the home if you take Personal Possessions Cover.

As a rule, no. However, we may ask at the time of claim for any proof of purchase like receipts or any operating manuals. For items that are specified in the policy under cover outside of the home, these need to be supported by proof of purchase or a recent valuation certificate.

This cover is for items that are literally "taken outside of the home". These items could include cameras, watches, sunglasses, jewellery and so forth.
Cover for such items can be arranged on both a specified and an unspecified basis. Items over 5,000 need to be specified, while items below this amount can be insured by a general sum.

Only items in the home that are worth more than 20,000 need to be specified. Please note that there is no increased charge for these - the figures are mainly for our reference.

Our home insurance policy is designed for items of personal use only. However, if your home-office is used for anything other than paperwork and telephone calls, such as receiving clients/customers, employing staff or keeping business related cash or stock at the property, please contact our call centre to speak with one of our dedicated insurance advisors to discuss your requirements.

You should start by valuing your home room by room. Think about the contents in each room and work out how much it would cost to replace it all.

Yes, you can cancel policy at any time.
