Company History

Liva Insurance Company known previously (Al Alamiya for Cooperative Insurance Co.) is a Saudi joint stock company and was established in accordance with Council of Ministers Resolution No. (5) dated 08/01/1430H (corresponding to 05/01/2009G) and in accordance with Royal Decree No. (M/2) dated 09/01/1430H (corresponding to 06/01/2009G) to carry on the activity of cooperative insurance. The share capital of the Company is two hundred million Saudi Riyals (200,000,000) comprising twenty million (20,000,000) ordinary shares with a nominal value of ten Saudi Riyals ( 10) each. The capital of the Company has been increased to (400,000,000) million Saudi Riyals on 15/3/1436H (corresponding to 6/1/2015G). The Company's founding shareholders include Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance (Middle East) Limited E.C. (50.07%), Riyad Bank (19.92%), and a group of reputable Saudi investors (0.01%). The remaining 30% of the Company's capital is offered to the public. On 07 November 2023, the new name of the company was announced as Liva Insurance Company.

The mission of the Company is to protect individuals and companies from, and help them to reduce, the risks they face in their daily life by providing insurance products that meet their needs in the areas of Property; Marine; Motor; Medical; General Accident and Engineering. The Company’s strategy is to focus on underwriting and claims discipline to achieve sustainable profitable returns. The purpose of the Company is to transact cooperative insurance operations and related activities such as reinsurance, agency activities, representation, or correspondence activities in accordance with the provisions of the Control of Cooperative Insurance Companies Regulations and its Implementing Rules, and such other laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Company may undertake all activities whether in respect to insurance or the investment of its funds and to own, move, sell, replace, or lease its immovable properties or liquid assets either directly or through companies established or acquired by itself or in association with other entities. The Company may have an interest in, own or merge with, or acquire or by any means participate with other corporate entities that are engaged in activities or fiscal activities similar to those of the Company or which assist in realizing its purpose. The Company may exercise such activities as stated above whether within or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We wanted a name that is unique in the insurance industry, is international, simple, and transcends languages, and ties into our purpose of providing holistic protection for all aspects of people’s lives. Liva embodies who we are and what we stand for. 

Our visual identity is dominated by vibrant orange and white – colors that make us shine distinctly and brightly across the sea of insurance companies within the region. It symbolizes the confidence we instill in our customers and the pride we take in doing so. The V-shaped curve symbolizes more than just protection; it represents an entire ecosystem. Inside this curve lies the letter A, which embodies our customer-centric approach, placing the customer at the core of our business. Combined, this alignment reflects how we will achieve our purpose.

We aim to start phasing out the old branding and adapting all marketing materials as well as our branches and offices with the new look and feel starting from07th November 2023. We will keep you posted on any updates. 

Effective from 07th November 2023, the Company’s commercial name is changed from " Al Alamiya for Cooperative Insurance Co " to "Liva Insurance Company " after obtaining all the necessary regulatory and shareholder approvals.

All existing products will remain the same, however, upon renewal and for new policies purchased after18th November 2023, the documents will be rebranded to Liva. We will continuously work on exploring new and innovative ways to expand our products and service offerings to include a full suite of life, health, personal, and commercial insurance products as well as providing better customer experience in line with our purpose. You will continue to experience the same level of service delivery during this period. 

Liva provides a holistic and multi-line portfolio of innovative, smart, and reliable insurance solutions that blend local knowledge with global expertise to safeguard all aspects of people’s lives. 

Our IT domains, such as websites, social media channels, customer portals, and email addresses, will be renamed. You will be informed about the details in writing in due course.

No, your existing policy will remain unchanged for the time being. 

Renewed policies as well as new policies purchased after 18th November 2023 will be issued under the new brand name Liva. 

The claims processes will remain the same.

It has always been our endeavor to provide seamless, simple and easy claims experience to our customers and we shall continue to maintain our standards and keep on improving them. 
To ensure simplicity and a smooth transition, we shall continue to have the same claims process with approved service providers and in-house claims management systems and keep our customers updated on the contact details and changes, if any.
